The State Library of NSW is proud to support the Moran Foundation of the Arts’ in presenting the Moran Prizes, the 2008 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and the 2008 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize.
The State Library of New South Wales and the Moran Health Care Group’s shared interest in documenting and celebrating our social history through art and photography have also resulted in a significant collaboration in the online world.
With the sponsorship of the Moran Group, many treasures from the State Library’s renowned photographic collections have been digitised and made available online for the first time at http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/
The Sydney Exposed online photographic exhibition, sponsored by the Moran Group, offers a remarkable 160-year journey revealing a uniquely Australian story of the people, places and events of Sydney. It showcases a stunning collection of candid shots by amateur photographers and government archivists, as well as works by well-known photographers such as Sam Hood, Max Dupain and David Moore.
